You didn't do anything sweetie, I promise. Sometimes, the pendulum just swings the other way...still, the DM is pretty much showing his hand -- and not very kindly, I might add. It's perfectly reasonable to be upset; it's a rotten situation: you have to work your butt off for the next month, while upper management continues to send the message that they've already made the decision about whether or nor they're keeping you on. I wish I could help in some way...my only advice is "prepare for the worst -- get those resumes out and interviews lined up -- and hope for the best." But maybe in the end, you'll find a place you like better and even if the bookstore WANTS to keep you, you can tell them to kiss you ass because you've found something better! (BEST CASE SCENARIO!) *HUGS & KISSES*

You're depressed more from being in a hostile environment than from the uncertainty of unemployment, I suspect. I also think that the clouds will lift once you're in a better environment where people appreciate you and you're allowed to do a good job. Been there, done that.

*HUG* I have that dark cloud of an unhealthy workplace around too, but I just click on the computer and escape into words and pretend I'm home... the benefits of working night shift (a lot less money, a lot more freedom and peace, most of the time)... remember one door closes another opens and those happy philosophical axioms... you deserve better, you deserve to be appreciated, stay positive and see what the job market is like and enjoy yourself no matter what, in spite of them all...
