It is the bassline for Taxman. I think Weller admitted it in an interview (or maybe Foxton, who knows). It's a definite cop, though, but still a hella tune.

With regards to the splattered latte - damn! But don't ever worry that you're the only one who has those: "Oh for the love of...how could I have forgotten?!" moments. Morticia and I do things like that all the time. Rescheduled trip south - FATE! You were destined to see that concert. (Okay, maybe not but I like to look at it that way). Working out of the "funk" - sometimes it just takes a couple of days to regain your sea legs. :-) PS: Let this note serve as evidence that despite appearances, I am not dead. :-)

Be glad it was a coffee drink...I did that once with a ginormous bottle of mustard my first day on the job at McDonald's. Now that was disgusting and I was never allowed to touch the things again. Hehe!
